The long-awaited sequel to Tim Burton’s 1988 cult classic, Beetlejuice, is finally coming to fruition with new details emerging. Warner Bros. Pictures has unveiled a striking new poster for Beetlejuice 2 via its official X account, unveiling the film’s title and release date: Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, set for September 6, 2024.
The poster, while not revealing much else, exudes the eerie and spooky atmosphere that fans have been eagerly anticipating for this sequel. Beetlejuice Beetlejuice continues the story from its predecessor, where Michael Keaton famously portrayed the mischievous “bio-exorcist.” In the original film, Keaton’s character was enlisted by a ghostly couple to scare away the new human occupants of their former home.
The original Beetlejuice was a box-office sensation, earning $75 million worldwide on a $15 million budget. Its enduring popularity led to various adaptations, including a successful Broadway musical.
Director Tim Burton returns to helm the sequel after approximately 35 years, with major cast members Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder, and Catherine O’Hara reprising their iconic roles. Jenna Ortega, known for her role in Wednesday, is reportedly portraying Lydia’s daughter.
Joining the cast are new additions Willem Dafoe, Justin Theroux, and Monica Bellucci, adding further intrigue to the anticipated sequel.
Fans can mark their calendars as Tim Burton’s Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is set to haunt theaters worldwide on September 6, 2024.
