David Tennant wants to play Jessica Jones’ Kilgrave again in the Marvel Universe

David Tennant, known for his portrayal of Kilgrave, aka The Purple Man, in “Jessica Jones,” has expressed his interest in reprising the role within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Despite his character meeting a grim fate in the series’ first season, Tennant remains hopeful for Kilgrave’s return.

During his time hosting this year’s BAFTA awards, Tennant discussed his hosting duties and reflected on his iconic characters. When asked which role he’d like to revisit, Tennant promptly mentioned Kilgrave as his top choice. Despite Kilgrave’s demise, Tennant expressed enthusiasm about the possibility of reprising the character.

Acknowledging Kilgrave’s fate, Tennant humorously remarked on the character’s “very dead” status. However, he emphasized the unpredictable nature of the Marvel Universe, suggesting that “never say never” applies, given the franchise’s penchant for resurrecting characters through various means.

Tennant’s potential return as Kilgrave could take various forms within the MCU. He could voice a variant of the character in the animated series “What If…?” on Disney+. Additionally, with the MCU delving into the multiverse concept, Tennant could portray a variant from another live-action universe.
