Jack Black, renowned for his roles in both animated and live-action films, has joined the cast of Warner Bros. Pictures’ live-action Minecraft movie. He will portray the iconic character Steve from the popular game.
Black will star alongside Emma Myers from “Wednesday” and “A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder,” as well as Jason Momoa from “Aquaman.” Production is slated to commence in New Zealand, the scenic backdrop of Peter Jackson’s “The Lord of the Rings” films.
While details about the plot and the screenplay writer remain undisclosed, the cast also includes Danielle Brooks from “The Color Purple” and Sebastian Eugene Hansen from “Lisey’s Story.” The live-action Minecraft adaptation is anticipated to hit theaters in 2025.
