Joe Keery, known for his role in “Stranger Things,” had an enthusiastic reaction upon learning that his co-star Joseph Quinn had landed a significant role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Quinn, who portrayed Eddie Munson alongside Keery in “Stranger Things,” has been confirmed to play Johnny Storm, also known as Human Torch, in Marvel Studios’ “The Fantastic Four” movie.
During a conversation with Daniel Merrifield, also known as The Movie Dweeb, about his latest project, “Marmalade,” Keery expressed his excitement upon hearing the news about Quinn’s casting. Initially surprised that it was official, Keery exclaimed, “I think that for all Joes that this is a good thing, me included.” He immediately decided to text Quinn to congratulate him.
Keery admitted that he hadn’t heard any insider information about Quinn’s casting before Marvel Studios confirmed it, explaining, “I didn’t want to pry, I didn’t want to jinx it for him.” He expressed his joy as a fellow Joe and pondered about the filming location for the upcoming movie.
Quinn joins a cast that includes Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach in Marvel Studios’ “Fantastic Four” reboot. Although Quinn’s casting had been rumored for months before the official announcement, fans are now reassured that it’s official. However, details about the plot, additional casting, and potential villains remain undisclosed. Speculation suggests the movie might be set in the 1960s, based on clues from official promotional materials.
“The Fantastic Four” is scheduled to hit theaters on July 25, 2025.
