Jurassic World 4 aka Jurassic Park 7 is officially in the works at Universal

Universal Pictures has announced the development of another installment in the Jurassic Park/Jurassic World franchise, tentatively titled “Jurassic World 4.” The news, reported by The Hollywood Reporter, revealed that writer David Koepp, known for penning the original 1993 Jurassic Park film, is on board to write the script for Universal Pictures.

Although the sequel was just announced, sources indicate that the script for Jurassic World 4 is already well-progressed and received positively. There are even talks of aiming for a 2025 release, indicating significant progress in the production process.

While no director is currently attached to the project, Patrick Crowley, who produced the previous Jurassic World films, will return to produce this next chapter alongside Steven Spielberg, who will serve as an executive producer through Amblin Entertainment.

Despite being dubbed “Jurassic World 4,” this upcoming movie is set to mark the beginning of a “new Jurassic era,” suggesting a departure from the previous storyline led by Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard. As such, it’s unlikely that Pratt, Howard, or the original Jurassic Park cast members like Sam Neill, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum will return in leading roles. However, there may be opportunities for cameo appearances in supporting roles.

The new installment is expected to introduce a fresh storyline, potentially launching a new trilogy within the franchise. While the title of the upcoming trilogy is yet to be revealed, there’s speculation about the possibility of exploring unconventional settings, with suggestions like “Jurassic Space” humorously mentioned.

With progress underway and a possible release date on the horizon, fans of the Jurassic Park franchise can anticipate updates on casting, production, and trailers in the near future. “Jurassic World 4” promises to offer another thrilling adventure to dino enthusiasts, ushering in a new chapter in the beloved franchise.
