Get ready for another adventure with Benoit Blanc, as the third installment of the Knives Out series is reportedly set to begin production later this year, according to Deadline. The news, buried within an article about writer/director Rian Johnson and producer Ram Bergman, reveals that T-Street, an independent studio, is gearing up to film the next Benoit Blanc mystery for Netflix.
While details about the third film remain scarce, it’s worth noting that Netflix acquired the rights to both Knives Out 2 and 3 in a landmark deal worth $450 million back in March 2021. Daniel Craig is set to reprise his role as Benoit Blanc, with Johnson returning to direct. Despite delays due to industry strikes, Johnson has confirmed that work on Knives Out 3 is now back on track, stating, “I have a premise, I have a plot, I have in my head what the film will be. It’s just a matter of writing the damn thing.”
The previous Knives Out films have been box office hits, with the first installment grossing $310 million worldwide in 2019. While the success of “Glass Onion” – the sequel – is more difficult to measure due to its simultaneous release on Netflix and limited theatrical run, anticipation for the next chapter in the Benoit Blanc saga remains high.
