Morena Baccarin has confirmed her return as Vanessa Carlysle in Marvel Studios’ “Deadpool 3,” reprising her role as Wade Wilson’s beloved partner.
The actress, known for her role in “Greenland,” revealed her involvement in the threequel during an interview with Josh Wilding from ComicBookMovie while promoting “Fast Charlie.” Baccarin expressed her excitement for the film’s progress following the resolution of the strike, stating that fans are in for a delightful surprise.
“I finished my shooting days on it already,” she disclosed, indicating that filming for her scenes has concluded. When asked about Vanessa potentially suiting up as Copycat, Baccarin acknowledged the character’s vast universe but affirmed her enthusiasm for the possibility.
In the comics, Copycat possesses the ability to mimic the appearance and powers of others, initially serving as a mercenary and love interest of Deadpool before joining X-Force as a hero.
Baccarin also expressed her interest in returning to the DC universe, reminiscing about her time as Dr. Lee Thompkins on “Gotham” and expressing a desire for compelling female roles.
“Deadpool 3” sees the return of several characters from the Fox X-Men universe, including Sabretooth and Toad. The star-studded cast features Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson, Hugh Jackman as Logan, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, and Jennifer Garner as Elektra Natchios.
Additional cast members include Stefan Kapičić as Colossus, Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, Karan Soni as Dopinder, Shioli Kutsuna as Yukio, and Rob Delaney as Peter.
