Disney’s Toy Story 5 official release window confirmed – here’s when it’s coming out

Exciting news for Toy Story fans! Disney CEO Bob Iger has officially announced that Toy Story 5 is set to hit theaters in 2026.

During Disney’s Q1 2024 earnings call, Iger revealed a lineup of upcoming Disney films, including the highly anticipated Toy Story 5, marking the return of the beloved franchise since 2019.

Iger stated, “And we’re already looking forward to 2026 and beyond with Frozen 3, the first Toy Story movie since 2019, and a new Star Wars movie that brings the Mandalorian and Grogu to the big screen for the very first time.”

Disney’s 2026 lineup includes two release dates for Pixar films, sparking speculation that Toy Story 5 could be released on either March 6 or June 19, 2026.

While details about the plot of Toy Story 5 remain under wraps, Tim Allen has confirmed his return to voice Buzz Lightyear, alongside Tom Hanks reprising his iconic role as Woody. Allen revealed, “Bob Iger, head of Disney, said it was on. He actually said that it was going to happen.”

“They have reached out to Tom and I to reprise the roles. They’re not saying anything about it.” Allen also hinted that Toy Story 5 is penned by one of the original creators of the franchise, promising a return to the magic of the beloved series.

The original Toy Story, released in 1995, was a monumental success both critically and financially, spawning three sequels: Toy Story 2 (1999), Toy Story 3 (2010), and Toy Story 4 (2019), all of which received widespread acclaim.
